The categories every entry is read through: arrival, rooms, dining, public space, surroundings
Arrival is the first category: how a property presents itself as you approach, from massing and landscape to the tone of the lobby. We note what a careful traveller would observe without turning the note into a brochure claim.
Rooms come next — not as a count or a catalogue of finishes, but as a sense of where sleeping quarters sit within the whole. Dining follows as a presence in the day: whether meals feel central to the stay or simply available alongside it.
Public space and surroundings close the frame. Shared halls, lounges and the land or water outside explain rhythm and atmosphere. Together these five categories keep every entry readable against the others.
Why the entries carry no prices, no availability and no star-ranking of our own
Prices move. Availability moves. Publishing either here would force us into a role we do not hold and would age the guide overnight. We leave those facts with the official listing, where they can be maintained by the people responsible for them.
Star class appears when it is part of the supplied data for a property. That is identification, not our own scoreboard. We do not invent a second ranking or arrange catalogs as a hierarchy of worth.
Seasonal picks and themed catalogs are lenses for reading, not verdicts. The absence of prices and availability is a standard, not an oversight — it keeps the prose observational and the guide honest about its limits.
Where the photography comes from and what it does and does not show
Photographs on this site illustrate a specific entry or a section of the homepage. They show a property or atmosphere at a particular moment. They are not a guarantee of the condition, layout or character of any room on a given day.
We do not use images as proof of an amenity we have not been given leave to mention. A photograph may suggest light, scale or landscape; it does not replace the written description or the official listing.
Unused files may exist in the project inventory without appearing on any page. Placement is deliberate and closed: every image that ships has a single assigned role, and editorial pages remain type-led by design.
How to use the listing links, and why the official listing page is always the authority
Each property card carries one outbound link labelled for viewing property details. That link opens the official listing page in a new tab. It is the only kind of outbound destination this site uses for venues.
Treat the listing as the living document. Policies, house rules, dining programmes and anything that changes with the calendar belong there. Our entry is a fixed reading aid written from a limited set of facts.
